How To Turn Off Pc?

My XP is stuck. Mouse won't move. Control alt delete doesn't work. Have trued window button - nothing. Have also tried F4... If I shut it down manually it will go blue screen.. Really want to avoid that!

Yes I've now done this as a last resort. Usually this results in a blue screen (scary) as my PC is on it's way out which is why I was seeking alternate solutions!

Take the battery out.

If you get a blue screen look upe the error code it gives you.

Switch off at the wall ?

I think your real issue isn't how to turn off, it's finding out what's causing the problem. The blue screen exit leaves logs that knowledgeable folk can analyse.
