Messenger Alert Tone On Iphone 5S Ios 10.3

The web doesn't help me but thought you guys would be able. My dog gets extremely agitated when I get the annoying "ping" when a text arrives at my messenger. No other tone has this affect. Is there away to alter this "ping" to something different please. ?

Go to the 'settings' app then 'sounds' and then select a different sound for 'text tone'

That tone setting is only for "messages" not for "messenger "

go into messenger and turn off notifications altogether? Better than upsetting the poor dog.

Mis-read messenger as messages, do you mean FaceBook's Messenger app? If so, then you're out of luck I believe, the only option would be to turn off sounds for the notifications
