Weed Burner

I am interested to know if anyone has a weed burner. Do they do the job?
Our back patio needs sorting and I don't want to put chemicals down as we have a dog and a cat.

I have a butane gas one, but I've hardly ever used it, because finding the perfectly dry, still day, seems to come only once it a blue moon. The slightest breath of wind seems enough to blow the flame out.

Personally, I've found a Dutch hoe more effective.

Yep, I'm with chip. Manual removal for me. Time consuming but does the job.

Yes and yes, but I find it more fuss playing the flame on each for a while than simply squirting a spray at the weeds.

jakep, its safe once its dry and pets can’t tread it around the garden once its dry.
tilly no guarantees but I have had a lot of success with it.

Chipchopper go and weed burn in the rain...the wet makes the weedburner more effective and its safer

I find manual removal is likely to leave roots. I never trust that works. Well evolved weeds sacrifice the top to stay in the ground and retry. Hard work too.
