I'm seeing a lot of adverts for a Baikal Cube Miner. What do they do and how do they do it? Once they've done it, what do you do with the 'information'?
I believe it's something to do with Bitcoins or other such cryptocurrencies. TIA.

Unsure but it looks to me like a computer device for gathering electronic coins such as bitcoins. But i could be wrong.
Yeah went there danny, they aren't very informative. If above board it seems that you need to already know why you might want it.
Some info here, but again you seem to have to know what they are referring to.

Thanks Danny and OG. My thoughts exactly. I'm guessing it's an automatic searcher for trading in BTCs and accumulating them. But, it's only a guess. It would seem that you need to set up an account to place your 'currency', but then you would need to exchange them into £, $ or €, or am I missing the whole point of BTCs?
No expert but I think you can spend bitcoins directly for products/services at some places. Why, only recently, in the news, there were those kind souls willing to decrypt your encrypted PC for a few of them.

I know what you mean OG; aren't they sweet?
It's a pity one can't send a little thank you to them; you know the kind of thing, a small programme that would momentarily reverse the polarity on their CPUs and servers.

I've discovered that Baikal is the manufacturer and 'Mining' is described here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_network#Bitcoin_mining
