I was treated for this 6 times, the last attempt finally worked. I'm allergic to penicillin so had Clarithromycin, omeprazole and metronidazol, first course one week then same again for 2 weeks, third attempt the same, as was the forth, except they changed the PPI. Fifth attempt they added bismuth (fortunately they don't make anymore), it was awful. Sixth...

Not enough information.
What combination of antibiotics have you had, what were they and was it two at a time or three at a time?
Have you had only one course?

h-pylori
7 day course of amoxicillin, metronidazole plus lansoprazole.
No improvement.
Then you will need another course of antibiotics, the same or different probably with a third antibiotic (Triple therapy).
The nature and the combination will depend upon the preference of your doctor.

Thank you so much - very helpful. We thought the first course would clear it up.
I would have thought that the first course should have been a 2 week course.............just my opinion. Make sure that the second course is a two week course.

Sixth attempt, the antibiotic was levofloxacin (sp), the course was bad as I got most of the side effects from this hideous antibio. However, it finally worked. I had to have 3 test to be convinced.
Good luck.

My goodness - sounds like it might take time. My only symptom is constant mild nausea that has been present for some time and want to get rid of it. So glad that you managed to do so.
It was a bit hellish to be honest. My only symptom was bad acid reflux, which turned out not to be the fault of the h.pylori. Though it did cause me gastritis a bit later, that's why it's best to get rid of it as gastritis can turn nasty.

I hope you get it sorted soon.
