i watched some articles on youtube etc about needing to roll the lawn with a special roller that puts small holes into the earth allowing the grass seed to grow.
i have a lawn needs more grass ion it, about 10 metre square only. i do not want to spend a fortune on grass seed and rollers etc just to sow some grass seed and help this space look a little better.

is there a way i can easilly revamp this space ? what seed to buy ? how much ? cant i just throw seed around garden and water everyday ?

You might be more successful if you bought turf.
Rake the area first the prod it with a garden Fork, then spread the seed evenly.
You can, if the birds don't eat them. Sometimes works, sometimes don't.

You can aerate the soil with a fork if it needs it. Mine seems to need to be all holes.
My first consideration would be, is choosing the right type of grass seed that suits the situation ie: shady, sunny, hard wearing, with or without rye grass etc. most have a bird repellent but don't rely on that.
Cover with some mesh, if practicable and yes, keep well watered, twice a day in dry weather.
If the lawn has bare patches, it might be easier to treat individual areas with a 'lawn repair kit'.
