sad to hear this. I'd forgotten about Ivanhoe !!
Didn't like him much as Bond, but each to their own.
Yes, it is appropriate.
Oh it was a skit.
Lol at Sandy too.
I didn't rate his Bond movies, Moonraker was awful, but he seems to have been a genuinely nice guy. And yes, sure his death should have been reported.
I don't see announcing breaking news as an 'interruption' on a rolling news service.
I shall miss that thing he did with his eyebrow.
RIP Roger Moore.
sad..he will always be Simon Templar for me ...
Just heard it on the radio....what I remember was what he said to his prospective son-in-law on him asking for his beloved daughter's hand. His response - "I'm going to pour myself a stiff scotch, take a bath and think about this."
And Lord Brett Sinclair in 'The Persuaders.'
It is wholly appropriate, in fact there should not be 24 hr news coverage of such events, they feed off the publicity.

The BBC are not the only ones that do it either.
Sad to hear this. RIP Roger Moore.
|Yes, fine with this. He is the last of my heart-throbs to go (others were David Niven and Alan Rickman) apart from Mr J2 - who s been
forbidden from dying. Tragedy happens, it is terrible. Life and death carry on.
Rickman - agree - what about Daniel Day-Lewis?....bring on Rob Roy again - brilliant movie and far outclasses Braveheart that came out the same year.
Yes...RIP Roger. I remember when he was Ivanhoe, a great favourite of my boyhood. I shall miss him.
I always admired him for the fights he got into in the saint, victory over the villains with not a single hair out of place.

Asked once about what he thought about sex and violence on TV, he replied "rather uncomfortable, I would imagine"

RIP ROG. One of the good guys!
Is he Roger Federer's father??
Well his daughter Deborah was the original Scottish Widows model.

Unfortunately all image searches bring up her replacement, Amanda Lamb.
Of course it is appropriate, and it is very sad, though he had a good old innings. RIP

So did I, and I always thought that the villains looked like they had been hit, which is quite normal now but wasn't at the time.
