According To Internet Order Forms, My Country Doesn't Exist!

This has been bothering me for a long time:
When I fill in an e-form on a site that I want to purchase something from, I have to choose my country from a drop-down box which doesn't list my country. All that I can do is click on a collective name for a group of countries which, as far as I'm concerned, I only live in one of. Why is this? I live in a real country, one which - believe me - really exists, and is recognised by every other nation on earth.
Many of these drop-down boxes have every country and every tiny, uninhabited, windswept, icebound rock on the planet listed - I mean, Bouvet Island, anybody? Nobody lives there, it's virtually inaccessible, and covered by a huge glacier. There's not even a scientific station there! But it's on the drop-down boxes.
How do I get round this, and get the sender to put my proper address on the packet or envelope?
Oh by the way... which country do I live in? Well, I don't live in Wales, I don't live in Scotland - and I definitely don't live in Northern flippin' Ireland... I live in ENGLAND!!! I'd happily compromise, and settle for 'England UK' if I could.

England doesn't even have a government.
Whenever I'm asked to fill in my age, I get repetitive strain injury scrolling down to the right year.
Yes, in lots of countries "England" means "United Kingdom" (including in England) and they are all wrong. Really frustrating isn't it ?
Frustrating? So long as I get my order delivered on time, then no.
I didn't realise that Flatland actually existed !
This is such a silly complaint. An e-commerce needs to know where you live for 3 purposes:
The tax regime.
The currency.
How the postcode should be interpreted.
For those purposes "UK" is perfectly sufficient.
