Snap Emmie. If you look at what is written on your existing power pack and it says..19.5V 4.62A 90W. You should be OK. Not wise to use a power pack with different ratings you will damage the lappie or worse overheat the power pack.

Togo...It's PA21, not PA 51.......and the PA21 is the correct unit for the Dell Inspiron 1545...which is why I recommended getting the genuine Dell PA21.

ginge
which i seem to have done however unwittingly.
...then sit back and RELAX!!!
That looks good to go Emmie. :))

thanks all.
Haha as did I at 13:16 Ginge, but Emmie has now confirmed that she has indeed ordered the right one. The main danger is an over rated one will damage the lappie power supply and an under rated one will possibly overheat and cause a fire.
Togo, with respect...NONE of the Amazon listings you cited (including at 13.16) was a genuine Dell unit...they were all compatible units labelled "Just Laptops" and would have fitted several different models...hence the several different power ratings....
Ta Emmie. I know Ginge that is why I was keen to know exactly what Emmie had ordered. All's well that ends well.
