How do I find out what the password is for out BT Wi-Fi?

I am trying to connect my new mobile to the home Wi-Fi hub but none of the numbers on the little card will work.

I have tried the Wireless key number and the Admin password but my phone says authentication problem for both these numbers.

You won't mess up - it just tells the hub that it can allow connection from whatever device is having the password entered.

The wireless light will flash for a short time.
Ah yes. I think that button maybe to switch on the wireless.

I'll give it a go tomorrow. Thank you.
The WPS button enables nearby wifi devices to connect without using the SSID or passphrase. It doesn't turn the wifi on or off.

when doing my phone my wifi password was all capital letters

I don't really know why I'm bothering. I don't actually need to use Wi-Fi at home to access the internet on my phone. I have a laptop and a tablet. I just want to do it because you are supposed to be able to.

It's very handy when you just want to quickly look at a website or whatever and can't be bothered to start up your laptop or tablet.

Hadn't thought of that, Hc. :-)

......or when Mr T's hogging the laptop.......!
Exactly. I use my smartphone as a voice controlled timer when I'm cooking

I've done it now. I've connected to BTWi-Fi-with FON, using my BT account password.

Hooray! Thanks for all your help this afternoon, everyone. xx
Excellent : -)
BT wifi with FON isn't the same as being connected to your home hub. You're connecting through a worldwide BT hotspot.

BT FON is a feature of BT Broadband - so Tilly is still using her broadband, but is using a part that is accessible to any BT broadband customer.

Thus she could go elsewhere and if there was a BT broadband customer nearby she could access that broadband. Access is using her username and password.
