Mini Cooper S Sound System

Hi I have a Mini Cooper s 2008 model and recently out of curiosity I plugged in a cassette player into the auxiliary sound port. The sound though only comes through one side of the speakers whereas the music from my I phone comes through both sides , anybody know why this is and can it be solved?

Could you be using a mono lead? I assume a lead with jack plugs at each end and there should be 3 segments on the plus.

Think it is just a mono lead as it just plugs into one port in cassette player, so i lol have to get another, thanks
