Has anyone ever used Regcure? Does it really speed up computers? I did a free scan because my laptop (Windows XP) always goes slow and the scan results said I have over 800 errors. Can you buy in the UK or does it have to be over the internet? Can anyone recommend any other registry cleaners?

Thanks in advance

They only one i've ever used and have ever heard recommended is C Cleaner. It is the idiots program to registry cleaning.

Never mess with the registry unless you really know what you are doing.

CCleaner http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/dow nload/d36059d1536a62bd86db724b33ea39ae/
ccleaner good ...
regcure not good

send me the money ... I'll burn it for you
y' know I wasn't going to .... but what the hell

Registry cleaners - I've never seen a legitimate review of any registry cleaner (ccleaner is a system cleaner - not registry) in any serious PC mag
they don't exist

equally I've never seen anything on the internet that I'd trust without a recommendation from a RELIABLE third party.

should I reply to spam .... I registered my e-mail ....
I've just confirmed my banking details .... a free scan reports 10000000 faults ....is a fix worth 10000 ?
what is wrong with people ?...

at least copper you've asked (hopefully BEFORE parting with money)

johnpol78-why do you insist on advertising that site at every opportunity? are you getting paid to do so?
I ran RegCure once. While it did no serious damage it did harm MS Defrag and it took me a while to google the fixes and put them in. MS Defrag is still not fully functional. I never ran RegCure again.
A friend(who ran an IT company) recommended www.registry-cleaner.net/ but I have never tried it. I believe there is no free version of it.
He said he did not like Ccleaner but I never asked why.
If you back up and defrag your registry you will probably be OK
I once stupidly ran a registry cleaner and it wiped everything off my computer.

Never again.
johnpol - please stop advertising that expensive, rubbish site.

You are a spammer
>Does it really speed up computers?

No, not really. Even if it did, it would be far less than 1%

>the scan results said I have over 800 errors

Well if it said you had no errors you would not buy it !!!

These sort of scans always say you have hundreds of errors so you rush out and buy the product.

Like ACtheTroll, I think most registry cleaners are a con and do almost nothing of benefit.

I have been using PCs for years and never felt the need to run any sort of registry cleaner.

And as other have said, the registry is one of the most important fles on your computer, and a bad registry cleaner could well delete entries from it and stop your computer working.

If your computer is running slow find some other way of speeding it up, not a registry cleaner.
The Windows registry is a mystery for most users so is an excellent place for scammers to claim that the computer's performance can be improved.

In reality unless you have installed and removed dozens of badly written applications, "cleaning" it won't make a scrap of a difference. These applications are more likely to destroy your setup than fix it.

Having forked out good money, most users are reluctant to fail to notice an improvement after running a cleaner even when it made no difference. They are even less likely to admit they got sucked in to buying a useless piece of software.

Slow performance is more often due to a lot of appliactions automatically starting when Windows loads to give the appearance that it is resopnding efficiently when called on to do its trivial task.

I have seen computers completely choked with these "helper" applications installed by naive users who think they are improving the computer's capabilities.

Thanks for your opinions.

ACtheTroll - there is nothing wrong with me except I am not crash hot on technical stuff, which is why I asked, and no I haven't parted cash - I ain't stupid although not knowledgeable of the ins and outs of computers.

I will steer clear of Regcure.
