Has anyone here had radiotherapy following chemo and hysterectomy please? I was fine with chemo, hardly any side effects, but I have to have radiotherapy 5 days a week for 5 weeks :(

Thanks in advance

I have had a radical hysterectomy followed by chemo and then radiotherapy. Chemo was not as bad as I anticipated but still not a walk in the park. Radiotherapy is totally painless and very quick. The only snag being that, in my own case, I had to travel in daily to central London to the hospital using Patient Transport (because of mobility problems) and this...

Answer bank.
Hi baths
4500 cGy in 25 fractions ( 5 x 5 therefore five weeks worth)

is 45 grays - I got 40 in 15 (three weeks ) to my pelvis and then had an operation and felt pretty awful for a year

whereas last year I got another 40 - zapping my rt orbit this time - they have to nail your head to the floor in order to get you to keep still for that one - and I didnt feel too bad

Smaller area....perhaps I knew what it was gonna be like

anyway - 'we' are just getting into the fifth week
you will have heard lots of people dinging the dinger and it willbe your turn soon

( take a camera and get someone to take a photie )

sozza about the delay
I have only just seen the post
