It puts me in mind of the Ben Johnson headlines in Canada.

'Canadian wins Olympic Gold'

next day,

'Jamaican immigrant is a drug cheat'.
I find it more acceptable to be murdered by a nice white Norwegian gentleman than a Somalia asylum seeker with dual nationality. What would the neighbours think?
Lol @ Sam
Samjenko at 12.24, they did indeed. Thank you.
"When Is A Muslim Not A Muslim"

When the media decides it's prudent to ignore his religion.
naomi
which they do all the time.
emmie,

Welcome back :-0

Gujarat is 89% Hindu. When India and Pakistan got Independence in 1948 millions of Muslims moved to Pakistan (and Hindus south to India).
thank you, however that info was from a Census which presumably fairly accurate.
The BBC have form for this, they failed to mention that Jimmy Saville was a Roman Catholic and did not mention the fact that Gary Glitter was a Mormon.
//Bengladesh distance themselves from Pakistani muslims//
That's because one is Sunni (Pakistan) and the other is Shia.
Muslims scream out at any hint of what they perceive as racism, but in fact they are the biggest racists in the world.
Many Bangladeshi mates will be shocked to learn that their country is Shia, lol.

I think you will find you are very wrong on that one Khandro.
Not sure who is more guilty of fussing over nothing here: the people above or the ridiculous twittering at the link
Presumably he is a "Muslim" in the first article because of the visa ban issue. Whether that is of any relevance at all of course is debatable, especially given what happened next.
And in the second article he is Indian and not Kashmiri!
Well, that is going to wind up:
Christians who have a thing about Muslim child abusers
Indians who feel that you are only Kashmiri if you are being portrayed as the victim
People who don't like the BBC
I guess Muslims won't like it much either for reasons associated with the first reason, even tho he's Indian and a lot of people think Indians aren't Muslims, as well as a lot of specifically Kashmiri Muslims who probably don't like being called Indian
And just about anyone else with 5 minutes to spare on Twitter :-)
When it's ajew ... err no, that a different riddle about a door come to think of it.
Yes grommit you are right there, 'the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Bangladesh are Bengali Muslims, but a small segment of them are Biharis and Rohingyas. Most Muslims in Bangladesh are Sunnis, but there is a small Shia community and an even smaller Ahmadiyya community. Most of those who are Shia reside in urban areas.'
It just happens that the only Bangladeshi (a restaurant owner) I know is Shia and I mistakenly thought it was general.
/// When is a Muslim not a
Muslim ? ///

When he no longer calls himself a Muslim, due to the bad deeds that have been carried out under that name.
grommit, that's quite correct, 'the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Bangladesh are Bengali Muslims, but a small segment of them are Biharis and Rohingyas. Most Muslims in Bangladesh are Sunnis, but there is a small Shia community and an even smaller Ahmadiyya community. Most of those who are Shia reside in urban areas.'
The only Bangladeshi I know, a restaurant owner, is Shia and I mistakenly thought that was general.
well Hussain is the name of one of the twelve Imams ( all 100% muslims - can one say kosher muslims without causing a war ? )

but as Togo says - Barry Obama has a middle name Hussein and altho 60% Americans thought he was Muslim - um he wasnt

are we saying Muslims are more dangerous ?
especially those awful Shia - heretics really o and to be found in Iraq which President Trump has in his revised wisdom has just taken off the banned list
Well Sunni Moslems think that Shia Muslims aren't Muslims. The majority of Muslims I've known were Sunni -and were very disturbed when the first Shia mosque opened. Most pupils and families came from Pakistan and Bangladesh -the Bangladeshis were the most difficult as in obstreperous. Yes, it's rather like equating fire-breathing Irish Catholicism with the Quakers. All very difficult to understand unless you are born into it.
Just like recently when I read about a Syrian refugee who suddenly turned into a Liverpudlian fella when he was involved in a prison break.
//but as Togo says - Barry Obama has a middle name Hussein//

Weeelll I've looked but I can't find where (*_*)
