Not a question but just praise for the Royal Mail for delivering my new passport in a record (probably) 5 days after sending it off - and that included the weekend. It wasn't fast-tracked as I was in no particular hurry for it. Just goes to show they can deliver a good service sometimes!

too not to!
Great when things work.
Strange but I also got my new passport today, less than a week from when I applied. I did a check and send at the post office, was told new passport would be returned by courier, my Royal Mail came at 11am today, at 5pm I found new passport half way through the letter box and quite wet. I'm sure my local postie would
have made sure it went straight through the letterbox.
I'm a participent in a survey on behalf of the Royal Mail which involves posting and recieving items of mail and logging the various times posted, recieved and postmark details and most of items of ordinary mail, even when stamped second class arrive within 24hrs.Since I've been doing the survey I've become a great famof the Royal Mail.

Meg, that is spooky as my passport was also stuck in the letterbox. Mr Losgigs had picked other post off the mat an hour or so earlier, and I only noticed the passport envelope poking through later. Was also expecting courier or 'signed for' delivery but got neither.
I think passports are delivered by courier, not Royal Mail. I'm surprised they are not signed for.

It costs £72.50 to renew or replace your passport, or £82.25 if you use the Post Office's Passport ... Your new passport will be sent to you by courier or Royal Mail.
