I love AnswerBank so much, but sometimes I've run through all the posts in my favorite categories, and I want more. Can you recommend other Q&A sites of similar calibre -- of course none could hold a candle to the wonderful AB.... but what's your second choice? (I'm not looking for chat, but good interesting reliable facts and trivia.)

how dare you !!!

you shall be condemned to the depths of hell for you horrible unfaithfulness !

traitor !!!

Not to assist your traitorious and rebellious notions, but may I humbly suggest the Guardian "Notes and Queries" site as a poor alternative ?

Works on a very similar basis to AB, with differently organised topic groups.

Would suggest funtrivia. Have never asked questions on there but they have a host of free general knowledge and specialised questions which can pass a few minutes away when AB is quiet.

Hi Tony, Possibly it is but I like doing the general knowledge quizes. It also gives you the opportunity to set your own quiz for everyone to have ago. I dunno if it is as freindly or chatty as I have just done quizzes

If you like movies, try the IMDb boards. This link takes you to the "I need to know" movies trivia board.

I am not sure that other sites would be as forgiving to someone who posts their questions IN THE WRONG TOPIC!!

Anyway, if you must leave AB even for a short while, and we may not talk to you for a bit when you come back, you could try this American site:

straightdope.com is another American site you can spend a while exploring...
Question Author
Thanks for several helfpul recommendations. I am not surprised that there aren't more -- AB is pretty wonderful and unique.
Octavius, is there a more appropriate topic for this question to have been posted in? This and Phrases are my favorite topics, so I figured that's where like-minded ABers would see the question.
