16d: Bush leaves for capital (8). I have *c*n*h*s, so it must be "acanthus", which is the bush, but what's the wordplay? Can anybody explain, please (by my reckoning this is not one of the "paired" solutions)? Thank you......

Actually I got it slightly wrong, It's Corinthian columns rather than Roman!
