I looked at a 2014 C-Max with 09532 miles on the clock .
The trader has not got the service book and because the car is under 3 years old has not yet had an MOT .I've done all the checks on the car and it is ok ,my only concern is that I need to check that the miles stated on the clock are correct.
Have Fords got a network that will be able to check if it had been serviced at fords and what the mileage at that service was.
Any help would be great.

I would be a bit concerned about why the dealer doesn't have the service record. It might be a good car, but alarm bells are tinkling in the distance.

Should you come to sell it on later, you won't have a full service record.
The Gov have set up a website to check, but unfortunately it only works for cars which have had a MOT.

Sorry can't help.
If you can sneak a look at the v5 you might be able to tell who the previous owner was.
Good suggestion from Zacs - I've done that before, but only after I bought the car .... thankfully, everything was as it should have been.
I'm with Hopkirk on this - a car under 3 years old, with no service record ..... hmmm .... def rings alarm bells for me.

I've now asked the trader for a copy of the V5 ,what he did give me was a note of the VIN number which does tie-up with the car.
No sight of the original V5 and no service book? I'd start to walk away.

I've requested an email copy of the V5 and am now in receipt of it. It looked like the car had been off the road for a while but , the car looks like it was a "mobility vehicle" and would (I think) be tax exempt i.e. taxation class Disabled.
Many new cars no longer have the service book that is stamped each time it is serviced - mine doesn't. The service is recorded on a database if the service is done by the manufacturer's dealership...not sure that this can happen if you go to a non-franchised garage.
However, you still get a printed service sheet itemisation and full receipt for each service and these should be available in your case.
sounds dodgy to me, all new cars have a service book, not related to MOT, so the fact it is missing rings alarm bells for me as does the fact that he's spun some BS about the MOT etc. Add the VIN anomoly and I'd say do not touch with a bargepole. It's a very common car, find a better one that you feel happier about.
