Costs £400 + £8 shipping - any idea how much the total bill for Customs, duties etc will be?

oh I would NOT do that. If anything goes wrong it will be a booger to get sorted.

Make and Model please
^^^I agree...by the time you've added VAT, duties, fees from Royal Mail etc. there won't be much of a saving....and (probably) no warranty?

It's the OnePlus 3T, sold by the manufacturer
I must be missing something ... it doesn't cost that to buy here.

Where you looking, Talbot?
There's no import tax on mobile phones but you'd be charged 20% VAT on both the purchase price and the carriage (totalling £81.60) plus a £8 inspection fee, making £89.60 altogether.

However there shouldn't be any shipping charge because shipping is free for orders over £60:

Even though the website states that UK consumer protection legislation applies, I'd still be wary of buying from Hong Kong. Further, I'd think twice before buying any mobile phone which has non-replaceable battery (as that one does).
I got a Chinese phone once. Kept winging the Wong number...

I'll get me coat....
