PHaardly ever needing colour, and fed up with ink jet cartridges "drying out" long before I'd used up the ink, I invested instead in a Brother Mono Laser Printer/Copy/Scan. DCP1610W. I've been pleased with it. I need to replace the toner and wondering whether to chance the much cheaper compatible ones versus a Brother TN1050. Anybody recommend any company for reliable compatibles. I've had a look via google and prices as ever vary from site to site, but around £13 for compatible versus nearer £30 for original. Thanks

If the printer is still under warranty don't chance a compatible.
I have a Ricoh mono laser printer and would always use a Ricoh cartridge even though they cost more than the actual printer.
I use non-HP cartridges in my HP Colourjet. Whenever I need a new cartridge I have a look on Amazon and see what's around. I tend to avoid the cheapest, so I can't recommend a source, and I've never had a problem so far.
