Odd Display On Digital Radio

Over the last few days my Roberts DAB radio (the big one with a full screen and digital radio recorder) has randomly added /ay after the time when the radio's on. So it was 05.58/ay just now, which stays for a few hours, vanishes then comes back some time later. I haven't seen it mentioned online and there's nothing wrong with the radio so what could it be picking up?

A regional accent??
Could it be that the display has developed an intermittent fault; your radio is trying to display 05.58 am and failing to get it right?
Sounds to me as if there's something wrong with the radio even if it doesn't affect reception. The only other explanation that springs to mind is that it's in some kind of engineering test mode and feeding back info; but that seems unlikely to me.
It wouldn't show am or pm if it was displaying the 24 hour clock.
My Roberts internet radio does, Jackdaw.
But I don't see the point. It's redundant. 05.58 can only mean 5.58 am.
Ask their customer helpline ? May even have a chat facility on the site if you're lucky; many do.
You're absolutely right jackdaw; perhaps it's just easier to program the display to show 0 or 1, rather than blank or 1.
Roberts are a very old and respectable company Dave, so I would shoot off an email to them.

For the record, exactly what model DAB radio have you got ?

Thanks, it's not causing a problem, I just wondered if it was happening to all DAB radios or something I was getting. I don't think it can do the 12 hour clock, probably as it uses the other one to set recordings. It hasn't done it today so was just Wednesday and Thursday, maybe other people will come along now I've mentioned it. Oddly it was the best DAB made with the full screen and recorder and was stopped soon after I bought it in 2002 and never had another made like it. It's the RD1 if you want to have a look.
