My doctor prescribed the above for a chest infection, I took 2 about 10am this morning, the rest of the week it will be one a day.
About 1 hour later although sat in a warm room I felt very cold then started shivering, this was immediately followed by very serious twitching throughout my whole body.I tried buttering some toast but the bread finished up across the kitchen as my hands were twitching that fast. This lasted about 45 minutes then my body subsided and all was ok.
I will only be taking one tablet tomorrow and I am worried that there might be a repeat.
Any advice would be appreciated .

I had those last year with no side effects. Could be coincidence. I have occasionally had cold feelings and convulsions when ill. They were a one-off in each case.
That is more likely to be high temp (rigor) in consequence of the infection rather than the tablets
I have had uncontrolled shivering twice, once at home and once in hospital. On neither occasion was I taking this medicine.
Sounds like a rigor as bn says.
It is a scary feeling, though it usually passes within the hour.

Blimey Danny that's some list on your link.
I am nearly 82 and must admit I found it scary.
Dear oh dear......Dr Google gets best answer.....
I agree with bednobs et Al it has nothing to do with the antibiotics, but with your rise in temperature.
I wouldn't worry too much. Take one tomorrow and see if the symptoms reoccur. My guess is that they won't, but I am no expert. If they do then you will have to contact your doctor.
Just a point, Sqad; if it connected to a rise in temperature why does one feel so cold and shivery?
Jackdaw...it is a physiological response, mainly by the skin and other organs to dissipate heat and reduce the temperature in the body.
