Can anyone suggest how, at the age of 73, for the first time in my life I appear to have developed psoriasis? The doctor seems to think that is what I have. I was recently taking terbinafine tablets for 14 + weeks (for a fungal toenail) and I wonder if there is a connection. i stopped these a week ago and it was during this past week that I have come out with this skin problem.

Good question and i wish I had a good answer.
Psoriasis can come on at any age, even at 71 years of age and certainly one can get an itchy skin rash as a side effect of terbinafine,
Take you pick Stargazer.
What are you doing up Sqad? Did mrs sqad get my email today?
Please excuse me stargazer, wouldn't normally do this.
Hi! Prudie.....went to the toilet...checked AB and there was stargazers post...so....duty called and i answered.
Don't know about the email, as she is still asleep, but it was a "day from hell" yesterday as she had to see her Plastic Surgeon and was a bit groggy for the rest of the day. She will email today.

Apologies stargazer...happy Xmas to you and your family.....and to you Prudie et Al.

Thank you for your answer Sqad. It is a bit of a mystery. Happy Christmas anyway.
Same to you Stargazer.
Stargazer is often triggered by stress. I broke out in it for no apparent reason and it was really bad. When I went to the doctor he asked had a suffered a bereavement.

Although I didn't feel stressed at the time with hindsight there were lots of small things going on.
