A Karcher I bought just before Xmas was found to be faulty. They send prepaid returns label and said to put in any box( hubby had stupidly thrown original box away). I take box to post office and they measure it and say it's 7cms too long and they refused to take it. Told me to try Parcelforce. They won't take it either . So short of wandering around supermarkets with a tape meausre looking for a big box how am I meant to return this without paying a fortune??

If there's a bit of room in the box, unpack it, cut the box in half around all four faces and slide one into the other with Karcher in one half then tape up. I hope this makes sense, I did it myself with a telescope and it worked fine.

What's a Karcher ?
Explain the situation to the retailer and ask for your refund for the item to include return postage. Then send it by courier, they accept larger parcels but have weight limits.
just to add, you can send a large parcel up to 15 kilos using myhermes for £9.99
Can you not reduce the size of the box, by cutting some off?

Sorry a Karcher steamer. I've messaged them twice today but no reply. I'm not paying to send it back when it doesn't work. They told me to take it to post office in first place and they aren't refunding, they're replacing.
did you buyit online smow?

Yes online. Im going to try and do what jakep suggests and see if there's room in the box.

It's worked lol. Now it's under the size restrictions. Thanks!
OK but MyHermes are cheaper and they include tracking and insurance as standard!

I mean the post office will now send it with the prepaid label I've been sent

Muchly welcome jakep ! It hadn't occurred to me. My parcel was 7 cm too long so I've managed to shorten it by 11cm with the help of a LOT of tape lol.
