This evening out detector has beep/ chipped about once every hour.

I have just called British Gas to ask for someone to come and change the battery as we can't do it because it's tamper proof.

I was transferred to the BG Emergency service and an engineer is coming out within the next two hours!

I have had to turn off the boiler and open the upstairs windows.

God! I think they've gone a bit OTT! I know you can't smell, see or hear Carbon Monoxide but we only have a gas boiler and that was serviced about six weeks ago.

We have a gas fire but that hasn't been on.

I think as part of the service Tilly they should have changed the battery.

He's bound to turn up just as we start to eat our evening meal.

He's been and gone.

We need a new detector. I told you it was an OTT reaction by BG. Stupid!

I am slightly concerned that no one was concerned that I might be slowly becoming overcome by Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

I thought AB was a caring community......?

Pah!
Glad to hear you're ok, Tilly ;o)
I have one which is out of reach
Beeped every 30 seconds when battery needed changing
Had to grab some poor bloke in the Close to help
He has since moved
Are you still with us Tilly? I'm caring lol
I was looking for a phonebox to get changed in. There are very few left.
Tilly, why the need for a tamper proof monitor?.Go and buy one that will allow you to change the batteries.
I would think B.G Fitted the detector Danny, it will be part of the warantee.
I agree with not having a tamper proof one. You can buy them quite reasonably now in most supermarkets. I always change the batteries in mine on an annual basis as they always seem to "beep" during the night. Think they only have a 7 year lifespan x
Warranty even.

I bet you have got a 'Tilly' lamp also?

A.O.G, I don't have a Tilley lamp. They look dangerous to me. I do have a Tilley hat, though. I thought I might need to wear it last night after I turned off the heating.

Danny, it's a British Gas detector and they don't like you meddling with their things.
