current questions update

How is the current questions list on the homepage updated? It seems that lately the questions stay the same for ages and then old ones reappear. I often use this list as a starting point and it's very boring to have the same questions all the time. Is it not possible to pick random questions and change it more often?

Current questions are selected manually and changed at least once a week. Automating this process is indeed something we can look into so they are updated more often.
