Evening to those watching. Looking forward to some great dancing tonight! Really looking forward to Danny and Oti's Argentine Tango, will it rival Louise's last week?

Who will not make it through to Blackpool next week, especially after the shock of Ore being in the dance off last week?

Will Ed survive another week? His dance to Gangnam Style should be something to behold!

i enjoyed danny's tango but thought louise's was better.why give ed such awful music ?
I'm not sure who chooses the music Mally - whether it's the pro dancers or the producers.

I have felt he was over marked compared to Danny being under marked at times. He does seem to have reached a bit of a plateau after his brilliant Jive. I know they compared it to Jay's but I still prefer Jay's even though I think he got lower marks for his Jive than Ore did.

Ah Grumpy, I've never seen it as anything but an entertainment show. I don't think it would have quite the following it does if it was a more traditional dance show marked by the Judges alone. It makes it far more unpredictable and the public get to have their say and you get the speculation about who will be in the dance off and who will go.

I do find Ed Balls very entertaining, more so than some of the better dancers, even though his dance skill is limited, if improving. The better dances have always won out in the end though.
The pro dancers chose the music in the earlier series but now it is the producers
Thanks, hc. I thought some of the choices were a little..er..odd.
It's a real shame that the pros can't choose the music - it can make such a difference to how the viewers perceive the dance. If the music isn't popular the dance will seem flat, regardless of how well it is performed.
And some of the music just does not suit the dance at all.

It would make more sense to me if the pros chose the music too as they are choreographing the routine and it gives them more artistic leeway rather than having to do a choreographed routine to the particular version of the song chosen, especially as many are adapted to shorten them and I guess cut out certain bits.

Some of the songs really don't go to well with the in house band and singers though, shame they can't use the original versions of songs for some of them, sure they could be edited somehow to adapt them to be shorter and fit the routines better. Some of the ones, last week especially, really just didn't go.

I suppose it prevents issues cropping up though of say more than one celebrity wanting to use the same song, especially in themed weeks I suppose like Hallowe'en. I wouldn't have thought it would happen that often though.

I always enjoy a dance better when it's done to the traditional music for that dance.
Eve- it's probably something to do with royalties, perhaps it costs more to play the original recording than have a live band doing it?
