Found an email this morning purporting to be a Subpoena from the Crown Prosecution Service calling me as a witness to something or other in London.
Not sure what the normal procedure for a subpoena is, but hardly think they would send one electronically and to an email account rather than a named person.
Very nasty.

How would the CPS have managed to get your email address? I would have thought a subpoena would have been sent by some form of delivery requiring signature.
You definitely would not receive a subpoena by email.
If you search 'subpoena by email scam' you will get a lot of results from Australia - the email contains a virus.
Seems to have spread over here/

Thanks folks. It was deleted immediately. Also ran the anti-virus protection.
