Well ..... I think there must be a fault on my landline, as well as my PC, 'cos the line suddenly went dead when I informed him that I also worked for Microsoft (obviously I don't) and that maybe we could discuss the problem in detail.
I think his last comment was, "You work for Microsoft?"
To which I replied, "Yea that's right. I work in the technical department, which one do you work in? Maybe you could tell me about this problem and we could work out a solution together?"
..... and that's when the fault suddenly appeared on my landline and the call went dead lol :P
Never though of that Tilly .... giving me ideas for next time though :)
I was completely unprepared and just answered the landline and had to think quickly when I realised it was a hoax call. I needed to make a quick decision - do I hang up, or do I string him along :)
