I have just bought a cast iron chimnea. How much heat is transferred to the feet? Will it be OK to use on deccking, or will I need some sort of heat insulating pad to stand it on? If so does anyone know where I can get one?

The greatest part of the heat will be transferred upwards and outwards (dependent upon your fuel of course!) - but if you're using it on decking suggest you put down 4 basic paving slabs under the feet to catch any fall-out.
