Part 1, No 10, does anyone think this is an error.

"which drink is a mix of gin, lemon, soda water, sugar and a lump of ice." This is a Tom Collins I though, a "John" Collins is made using bourbon.

Also, Part 3, No 6......His TV persona is just an act. (another famous John.)

Thanks in advance

Hi Pebbles! I've put John Collins, so I hope it,s right.

Hello Pebbles...Been a scorcher down our way! I have checked and it's definately states John Collins

Apparently a Tom Collins also has maraschino cherry and a slice of orange..it still says gin and not bourbon though ! Hope this helps. xx

Hi Pebbles

Still unable to send on one posting - so will send separately and hope for the best.

John Collins (Tom Collins in USA)

for one glass:

5-6 ice cubes...1 teaspoon sugar or sugar syrup...1 part fresh lemon juice...3 parts Gin...1 slice fresh lemon...1 sprig fresh mint...soda water

Whisky Collins or Tom Collins (John Collins in USA)

5-6 ice cubes...juice 1 fresh lemon...1 tablespoon sugar or sugar syrup...3 parts Whisky...1 slice fresh orange...1 maraschino cherry (optional)...soda water.

Both drinks are shaken in cocktail shaker, garnished with fruit and topped with soda..then gently stirred.

Story goes that it is believed to be named after a 19th century London waiter John Collins who was famous for serving his customers a particular type of mixed drink. Whatever the history, it is a most refreshing drink, especially in this glorious weather.....Make mine a double!!!

Cheers n00dles xXx
