Think I am going slightly mad.
Returning from France on the Eurostar about mid-day on November 5th. Normally I would take a train home from Victoria to Worthing (or London Bridge if necessary), but a strike looms.
Thought I would book a coach from Victoria Bus Station to Worthing, but no matter what information I enter, it only gives me times from 5.30pm.
What am I doing wrong (?).

worthing is served by an extension of the London-Brighton service 025, and only runs from London in the evening. http://www.nationalexpress.com/destinations/timetables/025.pdf if you don't want to wait for a through service, take the first available to brighton, then go bus 700 to worthing....

I'm getting a National Express leaving at 5pm, but nothing before that. Reduced weekend service?
I've just looked on the National Express web page - I managed to find a coach at 17:00 but none sooner. Even selecting "earlier coaches" just gives coaches from Friday evening but none earlier on Saturday. Perhaps they're all booked up because of the train strike so they're not showing them.

I can see one a 4 pm.

Maybe they don't run all day ?

also thameslink services from blackfriars will not be affected by the strike and would provide an alternatve means of reaching brighton
presumably Thameslink, and coaches, will be more than usually crowded with people avoiding the strike. Best try to travel as early as possible.
You can view the timetable of National Express coaches London - Worthing here. http://www.nationalexpress.com/wherewego/timetablefinder.aspx You may have to take coach to Brighton then change to another form of transport.

Murdo, no, did Nov 5th, but yes that was a possibility.
Grassc. Forgot about rome2rio. Have used them a lot in the past.
Jno & bhg. Yes, me too.
Old geezer. Couldn't see that one but if it does exist it means hanging around for four hours (!).
Mushroom. Think that is probably the best bet, even if I ending up getting a taxi from Brighton.
Jonathan. Will look into that.
I appreciate that I am very lucky to be able to travel so much, but dear god, do they have to make it so difficult. I really feel for the unfortunate people who have to do it on a daily basis for work.
Many thanks to you all.

Not the cheapest solution, but booked another ticket on the Eurostar coming back on the Sunday.
What are the odds that the strikes will now be cancelled?
i don't know - but bear in mind there will be engineering works at selhurst on that sunday; whilst you won't be on bertie the bus, there will be fewer trains than usual and you'll need to plan your journey.
