Hi, Long story but my ipod was sat in the drinks container of an exercise machine when it poured down with rain the other night. The next morning the roof had leaked and the drinks holder was full of water! The ipod was upright and the screen doesn;t appear affected - but does anyone know if the ipod will ever work again?

I'm leaving it our to dry for a few days, but so far there is no sign of life.

Any suggestions?

You're doing the right thing. But the batterries shouldn't be left in it. Also, trying to use it with any damp still inside could cause damage to the chips

I believe the method used to try to recover electronics from water damage is: dismantle it; wash it all in distilled water (to get any salts/impurities out); some parts can be final-rinsed in an alcohol/water mixture (dries faster); dry everything off slowly with gentle heat; reassemble, oil/grease mechanical components as required.

As heathfield says, don't leave the batteries in, they contain some very nasty chemicals which may leak and damage the electronics.
