Computer turns on when phone rings

Any idea why a computer would turn itself on just because the phone rings? It is happening several times a day!

Some computers have a "wake up on ring" function to enable you to recieve faxes or voicemail when the pc is off. Try looking in bios for this option, you probably have it enabled.
Also, if you have found that this suddenly happened, it could be caused by a virus. I suggest that you update your virus checker and have a complete scan of your hard drive. Many regards.
I agree with Kerplunk, check your BIOS. It might also be called 'wake on modem' It's very unlikely that a virus caused this but it's always worth updating your virus checker anyway.
