How far in advance do you do it, and does it make a difference crease-wise if you do it way in advance ? TIA

The day I leave. I get everything ironed and ready but don't pack until the last minute.

Doesn't make a difference to creases in my opinion.
I usually lay everything on a spare bed the weekend before I go and put it in the case 1 or 2 days before. I roll everything so don't get many creases anyway.
I have very few items of clothing that need ironing at the best of times! And when it comes to holidays, I am usually working extra hours to get finished before I go and often end up packing at the last minute.
I am almost packed and I go away in 16 days!
I always use those vacuum pack bags for my clothes. Depending what kind of holiday we have, I pack them in different ways.

On a cruise/ hotel stay...... tops in one, dresses in another, trousers in another, etc.
On a tour....Two days clothing in one bag, next two days in another bag. Saves a lot of rummaging and fewer creases.

I tend to pack the day before.
don't fold your clothes - roll them - more space, less creases
all hotels we have stayed in have had the use of an ironing board (with iron of course)
yes, check if your hotel has irons in the rooms or available enarby, they should be able to tell you. Personally, I roll clothes up and stick them all into one wheelie bag.
