Anybody got an advice to what exercises I should be trying out at the gym. Have perhaps 1/2-1 sone to lose and want to know what equipment to go on to best achieve this.Went to the gym last night and done 20min brisk walk on treadmill and 30min on stair climber, then stomach crunchs. Will this do the trick?

What else should i be having a go on especially for bum and tighs.

Thanks in advance

Have a think about this. Aerobic work ( running, walking etc.) will reduce the size of your body. Toning and weight exercises will change the shape of your body. Ask your Instructor / trainer for a weights programme to work you hard. Good luck.
I agree with glenn_99 trying new things like the aerobics or even kick boxing also make your workout fun! But if your not really into that then cardio workouts will do the trick...esp running!
Also, make sure you are exercising effectively at the correct heart rate for either weight loss or cardio. Don't potter along for 30 mins, work hard for 15 minutes. Most gym instructors will put together a tailored programme for you with a mix of cardio and weights. Take the time to do this and you can be sure that your efforts will worthwhile rather than randomly exercising. They should also monitor your progress over the forthcoming months. One thing my gym instructor said to me, working out only accounts for about 30% of what you do, the rest is down to your diet.
Rowing machine is great as it has less impact on your joints, also more comfortable than running if you have a big bust. Tones arms at same time as giving a cardio workout.
