I found a snake in the pond du fond yesterday. It was only a baby one I think. But it kept diving every time I had to get it out. so I couldn't reach it with the bbq tongues (i was going to try not to hurt it and didnt dare with gloves) but I couldnt get it. anyway today I cant find it I know it hasn't got out. Its a shame really I was trying to save it but it fled. Then I had to add chloro choc to the pool also where it was so this wont have been good for it.

If this happens again what can I do? I already cover the hole to stop mice getting in there. I hate things dying :(

Every living thing does eventually.

I think let it look after itself. Evolution means they are usually well equipped for it.
Does your pond have shelves at the side so that creatures can get out?

I have seen grass snakes swimming in natural ponds. They slither in but can also get out.
