How Do I Remove Photos From My Ipad?

I normally link my iPad to iTunes to back it up. But I cannot see how I can remove or insert individual photos. I know there's a for putting in blocks of photos but I've got far too many now and don't know how to get rid of them. Any advice will be gratefully received. Bram

When you connect the ipad to the computer it will show up as a drive - then you can backup the phots by dragging to the computer.

Open photos app
Open all photos album
Click on Select in top right corner.
Tap on each photo you want removed which adds a tick symbol.
Then hit the waste basket that is at top right.
