My neighbour has taken in an 11-year-old Dalmatian - the owner having gone into care. At night 'Coco' insists on sleeping on a brand-new sofa she has just bought. How can she dissuade her from doing so? My suggestion of a light tap with a rolled up newspaper is "out of the question".
I was wondering if there was any kind of a smell that is acceptable to humans which dogs don't like that could be somehow put in the sofa. Any suggestions please?
We wouldn't dream keeping our hounds off the sofa, they are a part of our family and they, and we, love to snuggle up together of an evening. I think people not letting their dogs on the sofa are really missing out.
Lol Minty, you aren't far wrong, we have a sofa and a dog each, the other dog curls up on the other sofa or in the large, elevated wooden dog bed I made for them, they take in turns. Quite often, Merlin. the older hound (8) will just go and lie on the cold wooden floor in the hallway instead of his bed, I think he gets a bit too warm sometimes.
