I have a garmin nuvi 42 satnav. The battery needs replacing. Although the device is being sold in the UK I don't see any sources in UK for suitable batteries, they only seem to be available in US and shipping costs are prohibitive. Anyone know a supplier in UK? Or, would any other battery do the job - eg one for a nuvi 40?

This battery has the same spec as the one for the Nuvi 42....Li-ion, 3.7 volt, 1100mA/h, 4.1Wh...so, YES, it's the same battery!

^^^ The specifications for a battery also include its dimensions (and its connectors), Gingejbee, so there can be no guarantee that it's the same!

However, I agree that it's very likely to be the same battery.
Yes, of course...but I did check pics of both batteries re connectors and the same battery is fitted to all Nuvis from 30 up to 50...so I think we are on safe ground with our conclusion!
