My wife and are travelling to New Zealand next month for our daughters wedding. We both hate flying long distance and thought that if we had noise cancelling headphones it might make the trip more bearable. I would be grateful for recommendations as I know nothing about them. Price is not a problem, value for money is more important.

depending how you're travelling you may find the airline supplies them.

Thanks jno, there's not a cat in hells chance of my wife using headphones that other people have used, even if they had been dipped in Domestos.

The Bose Comfort 25s are outstanding - reduces engine noise to a background hiss - they come with an airline adaptor and have outstanding sound quality - not cheap but well worth it.
Another vote for Bose Quiet comfort 25’s I used to use mine on trains a lot. Get the over ear ones rather than the in ear. Very comfortable and they work really well. Mine came with both Apple and plane adaptors and two rechargeable batteries which last ages, it looks like the new ones run on AAA’s which may be better for travelling.
