I have just about learnt my lines and am now making sure I get them in the right order, at the right time with the right inflection and attitude.

If only I had gotten that call from Stephen Moffat I would be in a different boat right now but alas 'twas not to be. I have to content myself with Hay Fever by Noel Coward.

Two weeks to go :)

Good luck cassa 333, I hope it all comes good for you.
Here's hoping that the Bliss family brings bliss to your family (and friends)!
Should we say "Break a leg", Cassa?
Good luck with it.
All the best cassa. :o}
As Laurence Olivier said there are only two instructions for all stage actors,

Know your lines and don't bump into the furniture

Good luck cassa

Thank you everyone.

My 12 yr old knows my lines as much as I do and my husband keeps calling me Judith lol

Three night run and no one managed to remember all their lines on the first night. One in particular had so many prompts she might just have well had the script in front of her lol. But alas well that ends well.

The other two nights went well and we even got a really good review in the local paper.

If only Steven Moffet had come to see it I would be the next Dr Who companion by now LOL lol
Well done, Cassa...hope there was a good last night party!....x
was Stephen Fry there? If so, there goes gness into meltdown.....
Question Author
I don't remember seeing Stephen Fry but would have preferred Stephen Moffet anyway lol

My dear son gave me his critique. My character was the lead but I came a sad third to the two characters with the smallest parts. He even liked the maid more than me lol Oh to be a 12 year old boy that knows your lines better than you. I think he will be happy to know I am considering banning him from future productions ;)

The after show party was obviously full of self congratulations. If we had had the local papers review then we would have gone into melt down hahahaha
well done cassa

thou hast it now king cawdor glamis
all that the weird women promised
and I yet I fear thou played most foully for it
for it was said .....

Macb - the scottish play I mean - Act iii sc 1 line 1 etc

I learnt this for english o level 1966

Now when i was on holiday in Turkey 1973 I read someone elses book on Memory and a few years ago found it had its own wiki page ( yeah a book did )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Memory
Fr Yates

one of the ancients Cicero describes a memory theatre
imaginary stage and you learn the lines in the place you would be saying them

altho the book is solely about memory systems before AD 1
they in fact dont change an awful lot

worth a read

or buy it for your kid - his good memory would then become fantastic !

Well done cassa, you should be proud of yourself.
