Yes remember the book and at the moment the tv series isn't doing anything for me - but will give it a while longer to see if it improves - it seems a bit silly and lightweight at the moment.
Missed it tonight, will try next week - but it is hard to improve on the book although there was a good series on TV some years ago.
I enjoyed it... light hearted new series is just what we needed..maybe a little bit unbelievable for those days but that didnt seem to matter to . Looking forward to next week.
Easy viewing. I liked it .
I enjoyed it. This is my favourite book.
i get the impression that the durrells were mad as a box of frogs.......
lots of us have families like that mushroom.
Can't argue with that! ;o}
I enjoyed it, nice to see Keeley Hawes extend her considerable talent to a comedy role after Spooks and more recently Line of Duty.
Missed it but I have it recorded to watch later.
Did you enjoy it bobbie22?
What a family!!! Chaotic, mad, a little unbelievable.

I did enjoy it Georgie'smum a bit different to what I expected, but nice easy watching.
As soon as I saw the boy sleeping in a suitcase I switched it off. How ridiculous.
ridiculous. they all seemed perfectly normal to me and my family. even rather staid.
I thought the same ladyj, would that my family could be that normal...
I thoroughly enjoyed it, reminds me of when I came to live on this little island in 1971. No running water or electric either,
I remember the original series. Loved the books. Like this version. Loved the way the mother waited for the second had to get round to 1pm before she had her gin! Used to do the same when we lived in Spain, no drinks before 1pm, but counted down the seconds!
Now we don't have any in the week or before 4pm at weekends!
I was too hasty in my opinion last week - I really enjoyed this evening's episode and have 'got into it' now - am enjoying it immensely.
