HI

I have a V reg Corsa and for about 2 weeks now whenever I use the fans there is a horrible smell. I can only describe it as a fishy / PVA glue / rotten food smell. A friend suggested someone may have stuck something down into the air vents but could anything else be causing it?

Cheers all !!!

does it have air conditioning, you can get some anti- bacterial sprays too stop the smell, it does smell especially after not being used all winter if not look under the bonnet by the windscreen there should be some black box type thing this will be your air intake for your heater/air intake, check for leaves, rubbish here that may be smelling

No it doesn't have air con and it is used regularly. The engine management light is constantly on also (even though vauxhall can't find out why) could it be anything to do with that?

Hi there

I think your friend may be right. If the smell came on suddenly then there could be something caught. A work colleague of mine experienced a simillar problem and eventually found a small bird caught in the air intake. Are you familiar with the air/heater channels in your car? I would probably check these first. Get under the bonnet and have a good look all around. I think it's unlikely to be connected with the engine management light (vauxhauls are notorious for this problem).

Hi
