I struggled to understand why he was charged in the first place. Apparently the police jumped in too quickly and the CPS had to do a U turn for them.

Try as I might though, I really don't have any sympathy for the man.
Any idea if his home was really trashed, or if he's just exaggerating in order to make work for lawyers?
Which Law?
The CPS found, quite rightly, that the Police had over-extended their reach and for that Mr Doyle deserves to be compensated.

However, Mr Doyle is obviously a complete plonker and actually deserves little sympathy...
So anything remotely detrimental to Islam can land you in trouble with the law. Whose side are we really on?
I think the police went way over the top if what he says is true. Even though he is a moron he is right to take action.

Did this Muslim woman even exist?
I can't help thinking he just thought it would be a good thing to Tweet.
Aren't we so very lucky to live in a country where we can sue the police?
Firstly, what could a partner in a talent and PR firm have to gain from free publicity?
Secondly, what is the "epic surpise"?
I think the point that he was trying to make was the apparent failure of so-called 'moderate' muslims to condemn outright the outrages committed supposedly in the name of their religion.
Hard line Muslims rant and roar with what appears to be impunity. At times it takes years of surveillance and undercover work to make a shaky case against a hate preacher that if you just read what they have said in both the masques public it's almost case closed guilty (I know, I know no one is guilty until a court of law says so).

BUT

One non Muslim man makes a not very strong comment about Islam\Muslims and is arrested within days.

This is why hard line hate is able to flourish.
I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a 'moderate muslim'.
Sure they're not all wild eyed, baby eating bloodthirsty psychopaths but that doesn't make them moderate.
The starting position is unequivocal, they're right and everybody else is wrong.
Who cares if I insulted some towelhead ?? Really. was what he tweeted later in the day..........
The guy did something foolish and deserved being picked up on it, especially as he had the idiocy to admit it on the Net. The police did go too far, overeager in being seen to be intolerant of intolerance; and the chap got let off on a technicality (no permission sought/obtained). For sure he can sue if he feels he has a case, but in the circumstances I think he should find no gain from it. After all, he caused the reaction by his own actions.
