He shouldn't be stopped.
Playing Devil's Advocate, AOG.....How would you feel if the Mother had been a devout Christian and wished to stopped her son being taken to a Mosque on visits to his father?
* to stop....
Unfortunately it is impossible to make a judgement on this because it tells us nothing about why the Distrct Judge made this decision.

The rest of the article is filled with statements from vested interests like a Church of England Lawyer. She states that this would not have happened if the religions were the other way round, but that is just an opinion without any proof.

Also, not sure why the boy has to go and worship in a church to learn about christianity ( or any other non muslim religion). Reading a Bible at home would be the same if not better.

Smacks of bickering parents trying try to wind up each other with the poor child in the middle.
Poor kid.
and the answer is in the second sentence of the article

The father – a non-practising Muslim who has forged close connections to his local Christian community and is divorced from the boy's mother.

so the father isnt even a christian

no wonder the judge has said: for chrissakes you lot

the judge has to take the childs interests as paramount
going to a church with his muslim dad doesnt seem like one
yeah BA to Gromit again

not a holy war
more like two parents bickering
The why is because the child's mother has won a court case.

Sad an agreement couldn't have been reached between the two adults.

Then my question must once again be "WHY"?

Presumably whoever heard the evidence provided decided the Mother had a case.

As I stated it is wholly sad there couldn't have been an amicable compromise, what hope do our children have when the adults squabble all around them.

/// The judge who made the ruling had courted controversy in 2014 when she said an eight-year-old girl should be moved to live with her father, a former drug addict with a criminal record. ///

Seems that this judge knows what is best for children.

I happen to disagree that he does, but my hands are tied.

yup AB is characterised with the same question being asked again and again without any of the posts being read let alone being thought about

the interests of the child are paramount....
why you may ask ( again - yawn )
and it lies in the Children Act 1989
