Somewhere near our house is a bird that sings all through the night, non stop. It sounds like a blackbird but surely they don't sing all night long?

if it's singing 'all through the night' it's probably a welsh bird

Probably a robin - they sing in the middle of the night. The one on my tree is quite vocal at the moment.

Blackbirds will sing all night if the light levels don't fall enough, do you have bright street lighting which stays on all night?
Robins are known to sing under street lights.
I'd go with blackbird, often hear them round here chirping away in the early hours !
Some for you here...but I love Ael's answer.....☺

I didn't realise until he got up that the other night Mr O recorded it. We have compared it to an on line recording of birds and it IS a blackbird.
It must be insomniac
It is (supposed to be) Spring so many birds are proclaiming their territory and [re]-establishing their pair bond.
Mrs O can be territorial about her marigolds...
