I've been having an issue with this this morning, I've had loads coming up, AVG resolves them but then they unresolved. It went quiet for a bit with them all resolved but I'm getting loads coming up again now.

Is there anything else I'm advised to go to get rid of it?

Thanks for any help.

Google came up with this. Can't say how good it is but maybe worth a try ?
Mmmm reading some of that site Eve it looks like avg are spamming you to upgrade to a paid version if you have downloaded their 'free' version. I would run a Microsoft scan and un install avg.

That's great, thank you for your help :)

Oops, sorry only the first answer was there when I posted (system on go glow this morning!).

I do wonder sometimes if all the reports are genuine, especially on a free version and when you go on to the information section it's plugging your upgrade! I can see it would panic a lot of people seeing that, especially if say a work computer or if they use internet banking etc...

Thank you both for your help.
Eve if you are using w10 or w8-1 the defender security system provided by Microsoft is excellent. I would advise anyone to be very cautious about downloading free trial offers and scans from avg, Norton, Mcaffee, et al. They will all eventually blitz you with warnings and pop ups after running automatic scans on your pc. Un install them.

I`ve had numerous BAs elsewhere for sterring people to the above.
As an addition to Togo's post above about Windows Defender, read this which is interesting,

http://www.howtogeek.com/225385/what%E2%80%99s-the-best-antivirus-for-windows-10-is-windows-defender-good-enough/

I uninstalled AVG free and am currently running Avira (free version) to see what it's like. Only get the occasional (once a day, in fact) pop up offering a 'trial' of the full version, which is easily closed or cancelled.

I also use Malwarebytes free and run a scan with it weekly.

Would suggest you run a scan with Malwarebytes free.

I must admit one of the reasons I got rid off AVG was its persistent 'nagging' to have a free trial.
//If you’re following common sense and other good security practices, Windows Defender may be fine, depending on your risk tolerance. However, if you’re regularly downloading pirated applications or engaging in other high-risk behaviour,//

//Remember: whatever antivirus you choose, it won’t provide complete protection. If you download and run harmful programs, you’re going to end up in trouble at some point. Good security hygiene is just as important, if not more important, than running antivirus, so don’t use it as an excuse to be irresponsible.//

Good site alice. I have pasted a couple of the paragraphs as general advice. I even took the liberty of correcting the spelling mistakes.

Thank you for all your answers, I really appreciate it. The pop ups do get annoying.

I've run a Malwarebytes scan and it came up with 406 things it has now got rid of.

An interesting point though about the need for an additional antivirus at all. Will think on that one.
Prevention once you get sorted :- Avast is the best free one, get rid of java if you have it, set flash to only activate on request, ignore all email attachments even from people you know unless they confirm it's legit, surf the web using a restricted user login. Run full virus scan and malwarebytes once a week. Oh and AB+ is good (although I think it's use is frowned here...sorry ed matey!)
