Why does one long single hair suddenly appear growing from your outer lug .that two days running now .its about 1 to 1.5 inches long .Any idea

I mean you often can't see them as they are very fine and lie along the surface of the skin, so maybe you spotted one and got it but didn't see the other. I never find them that long but do suddenly find one that's nearly a cm long when I pull it out even though I do check regularly

well they are there to snare creep crawlies from creeping in

and ear hairiness is one of the few things carried on the Y chromosome ....

What I want to know is why we need hair to keep bugs out as adults but as kids we had to just hope & pray. Does nature/evolution/God value adults more ?
