A friend is having one tomorrow and is nervous about what to expect. I was rather surprised they would need an assessment as they are registered blind. All relevant paperwork proving this including a letter from the eye hospital signed by a professor of ophthalmology has already been sent in. Has anyone else had one of these assessments?

They probably accept that your friend is blind but want to check on how this impacts on their daily life.

Does your friend work?

Being registered blind does not mean you cannot see at all, it just means your sight is very limited, they possibly want to see how limited.
